Testing the Waters with a 10km

I’ve got a bee in my bonnet this year and as someone who has NEVER been a fan of running (or excercise in anyform other than dancing) has entered myself into the Knysna Half Marathon. Yes people that’s 21.5 km … I have no real concept of how far that is, but am totally confident that I can do it. I might walk the whole way, but hey I’ve done it. The race, and by race I mean “attempt” is in the middle of July so I have loads of time to train. Of course my running schedule has been pinned to my fridge for the past 3 weeks and I have done exactly 3 training sessions in that time, which is problematic because I thought I’d totally be ready for the Spar Ladies 10km this Sunday. But eeek that has snuck up on me and I’m now in panic mode because I am hoping my poor little legs won’t cramp up half way in and I find myself rolling on the ground in pain while my friends point and laugh. What was I thinking?

Wish me luck peeps, hopefully I’ll be able to walk on Monday …
