Ok I might be completely biased, because this is the brain child of my sister. But Short & Sweet is a weekly short film experience which you have 3 weeks left to get to. Every Tuesday night til 4 September 2012 at the Old German Club, now known as the Wunderbar Theatre which is just off Hope Street. Doors open at 18h00 and people get there early … if you’re not lucky enough to have seats reserved you want to get there quickly to get your bum on a seat because those are hot property. I don’t know when you last went to a movie but those cost well over 50 bucks, this ticket is only R25 and you get a bag of freshly popped popcorn for only R5. Now that’s a a good (and cheap) night out. What I love about the nights is that it is an incredibly eclectic mix of people from young and old, hipsters to jocks and anything in between and they’re all there to enjoy the same experience. Julia selects these films carefully and each night she will take you on a journey of some sorts … the films are creative and come from all across the globe, we’ve had a couple of very talented film makers from South Africa. Don’t be lame, get there. Trust me you’ll expand your mind, explore creativity and maybe make a new friend or two.
